
SANDRAH SILVIO

Sandrah Silvio PhD. Founder and conductor of Musica Reservata. Venezuelan-French lyric soprano, choir conductor, musicologist, and ancient music professor. Sandrah graduated from the National Conservatory of Caracas; the School of Arts at Central University of Venezuela, the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris (First Price, 1997) and received a PhD of Musicology from the Tours University (Italian Opera). As a soloist, has participated in various oratorios, recitals, and operas. Studied with professors Montserrat Figueras, Philip Picket (Guildhall School of Music), David Roblou, Kenneth Weiss, Jill Feldman, Howard Crook, Udo Reinemann, Ludovic de San (Conservatory of Brussels), Raquel Adonaylo (Curtis Institute). In 1991, received a scholarship from the French government to produce a stage play at La Chapelle Royale (Philippe Herreweghe). Sandrah has performed as a soloist with various Venezuelan ensembles like Musica Reservata, Musica Rhetorica, Camerata de Caracas, and European ensembles such as Grupo Musica, Tonos Humanos, Dialogos, Isabella d'Este, Elyma, Modus, La Rejouissance. She has performed different characters in Operas including “Venus” (La Púrpura de la Rosa, T. Torrejón y Velasco), “La Tragedia” (Euridice, J. Peri), “Euridice” et “Amor” (Orfeo et Euridice, W. Gluck), “Ottavia” (L’incoronazione di Poppea, C. Monteverdi), “Clorinda” (Tancredi et Clorinda, C. Monteverdi), “Micaela” and “Frasquita” (Carmen, Bizet), “First Lady’ and “Papagena” (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart). As a researcher, led a project about the art of Italian Baroque Vocal music for the European Institute Centre National des Recherches Scientifiques (CNRS). Nowadays, Sandrah conducts the Camerata Baroque at the Sorbonne University, is a singing Professor at the Conservatories of Vigneux-sur-Seine and Montgeron, Professor of Ancient Music at the Institute Foremi (CNFPT) and Professor of singing in the Projet DEMOS of the Philarmonie of Paris. Sandrah combines her singing activity with international teaching projects (Venezuela, France, Norway, Japan).
